i plan to use my 21 years experience and all the love i shared with my dogs here..i have had 11 dogs.
i will give as much as i know so that all you first timers..or seasoned one may like to use as a reference.
i plan to give you links as well.. on the net you will find so many confusing details......and this i plan to avoid.
so here goes

1..there are no bad dogs....only bad owners !!!
2.never treat your dog as an idiot....he/she soon starts to behave and think like one.
3.love them...hug them...DAILY....at least once...they will do the same back
4.pick up a dog that is pertinent to your life style...(i cant emphasis more on this)
5.feed them at regular time only......treats have to be treats(rarely)
6.train them as early as 2...or 3 months old.....please dont delay this.
7.never adopt a pup which has not been with the mother for lesser than 3 months.
8.never give the dogs regular showers or shampoo.....you will ruin their skin health and also invite ear infections.
9.if you need to give a wash to them...then please do so,by wiping them with a soaking wet towel...then dry them.
10.never ..never..let your pup in the hot sun...EVER
11.clipping their nails is very sick job....so take them to the park..or long walk on gravel...the nails will be worn out gradually.
12.always take the dog out for urination..or defaceation after every meal( to the same place if possible)
13.never let your dogs fever to be longer than 3 days....attend within 3 days...call your vet.
they have fever even if bitten by mosquitoe...or when they have deep fear,just like humans..!!
14.any skin disease is sure sign that the dog needs LOVE & CARE....and not " isolation"..treat them with senstivity...they will bounce back soon !!!
15..never let your pup...dog away for long periods...always do it very gradually,extending the time period....as the dogs would not know why you left them off !!!
16...we/you brought them to your world...REMEMBER THIS....dogs if left alone they will be happy to be with their wolves/dogs world(pack)
17...never give in to all the whines and cries of your pup...if you do..,then they will think they are the leaders...after all they have trained you to work for their all whims and fancies and desires !!!
18. dicipline is a very respectable attitude for dogs....they love confirmity....regularity...and above all FOOD at regular time.
19..home made foods for vegetarian dogs is best( cooked rice,milk, boiled ragi powder,soya meal,biscuits) 4 times a day , if they are pups below 3 months.....and then3 times ...then lower it to 2 times a day. it also depends on the size and the breed of dog.
20.always have a leash when you take your dog out for a walk....dont use choke chain...but a breast chain is better !!!
21..first time owners...please...please pick a female pup...they are really very emotional,and loving than male pups
22.dogs chew things because they are worried..or if they have a anxiety...dont shout at them when they do this...please
23..never hit a pup..or a dog with cane..or any strong materials....if needed hit at the back with a small rolledup paper bag..just to show your disapproval...by catching them ON THE ACT....then a BIG "NO" is often enough !!
24.always have some body at home to take care of the dog ,if you plan to leave longer than 2 hours in a day
25.a dog with clogged with eye matter..or waxed ear...or smelly,emancipated means.....the owner needs to be changed,or better still charged for careless maintenance under PETA
26.you can have your dog to be blood donor and only requirement may be he/she should not be having fever,or should not have received blood donation on themselves..if there is pregnancy involved...then of course no no no
